Storm Surfers kicks off outdoor movie series
Kiama Municipal Council’s Summer outdoor movies will commence on Friday 6 December at Hindmarsh Park, Kiama.
The big wave movie Storm Surfers is the first of four movies Kiama Council in partnership with Kiama Tourism and IMB Building Society will screen over Summer.
Storm Surfers will commence at 8.30pm, but you’re welcome to come and pick out your spot at Hindmarsh Park from 8pm.
The documentary/action film follows two-time world surfing champion Tom Carroll and big wave pioneer Ross Clarke-Jones as they chase as many giant Winter swells as they can in Australia.
Their love for riding waves the size of buildings takes them from Tasmania to Western Australia – defying logic and experiencing several death-defying near misses.
The screening will celebrate the close of the Australian Junior Surfing Titles taking place in Kiama from 30 November until 7 December 2013, of which Council is a proud sponsor.
Outdoor moviegoers are asked to bring low beach chairs and picnic rugs only – to give everyone the chance to get a great view.
Volunteers will be collecting gold coin donations for the Red Cross NSW Bushfire Appeal.
